green reminds me of everything I did
Now that I've gotten my vacation post out of my system, onto different things.
My first week of school was tolerable. Northwest Vista is a nice campus, and my classes are alright. On Monday, I was sitting in the library, reading my Bible, and a guy comes up to me and says:
"Are you reading the Bible?"
"Yes."
[incredulous]"Because you have to or because you want to?"
"Because I want to."
[starts walking away]"That's so weird. I've only ever seen that in movies."
Never seen anyone willingly reading the Bible except in movies. Sad, sad.
Recommended movie of the week: The Life Before Her Eyes. Go watch the trailer on my sidebar.
Friday co-ops are going to be so much fun! I have five piano students (one is a two-year-old on scholarship). I love my church/HOPE family.
Yesterday was Addie's birthday party! She's quite the entertainer at the pool. And, as Beth and I had promised, she got a tiara. :)
Last night was also the premiere of the silent film. I must say, it's pretty fantastic. When it's up on youtube I'll post the link.
I had a talk with my friend last night about colleges...good grief I don't know what to do!!! I'm sure I would do well as either a music major or a theatre major, but at the moment I'm leaning towards music, with a minor in theatre. Now! Question is, do I want to major in piano performance or music ed? As a piano performance major I would probably go somewhere like University of Indiana, Belhaven, Berklee college of music, etc. If I did music ed, I'd go somewhere like University of North Texas or UTSA. Mom says I should major in piano performance and teach piano with that under my belt, because I already know how and enough to teach and music ed wouldn't teach me anything. Next question! I'm not interested in Juilliard. I can't see myself going there or wanting to go there. HOWEVER, I think it would be great for me to audition, just to have that experience, and to see if they would accept me. Thing is, if I wanted to do that, I'd have to spend these next two years preparing 10 piano pieces and 10 vocal pieces just for an audition to a school I'm not dying to get into. While it will be nice, is it worth it when I could be spending these next two years getting ready for auditions I'm serious about? Blahhhhh I don't know.
I'm going to go sleep away the long weekend.
